Moving Mountain School Bag project's first donation program of 2017.

On Saturday January 7th we caught a local bus out of Kathmandu at 5am for the 11 hour journey to Sindhuli. On Friday January 6th in the evening at 9pm the bus driver came across town to Besigaun to pick up the heavy cargo of bags and their contents. I kept thinking as the bus was being loaded what wonderful cooperation exists in Nepal. The bus driver had arrived just hours before from Sindhuli after a long days drive and at 9pm, drove the bus again across the city to pick up the cargo.

Next morning at 5am we boarded the bus in Chabahil and headed east along the Sindhuli highway.

We arrived in Dudhauli in the afternoon before sunset and after taking tea with Rewati's family, walked around the village. The warmth of the eastern plain made a nice change from the cool temperature of the Kathmandu valley. On Sunday morning we walked again around the village hearing stories of Rewati's childhood including a visit to her family home.

Around noon we headed over to the school and prepared for the donations. Medication for Nepal had donated infographics and these were handed out by members of the school board. Medication for Nepal is a charity set up to inform people throughout the country who don't know what their rights are regarding health care and treatment. They provide infographics and raise money through donations to provide medical assistance to people in need.

With more than 200 school children present it was a busy few hours in the school grounds - Rewati's sister Jyotica and our host during the 2 days helped as did Kirmo Wilén and Sarada Gurung as well as many of the older school children.
